Supporting the WWF

The name is incidental, but we are passionate about supporting efforts to stop the drastically declining population of tigers. Since the beginning of the 20th century, the world has seen an approximate 95% reduction of these majestic creatures. In conjunction with the WWF, we have adopted 35 Tigers in the Khata Corridor in Nepal, helping fund projects that work with local communities to monitor tiger movements, reduce poaching and help people to realise the benefits of living in close proximity to wild tigers.

TigerTMS & Carbon Neutrality

Like many organisations, TigerTMS is doing its bit to become a more sustainable business. We acknowledge we can all play a part in the campaign against climate change, and we therefore invested in a climate action programme with ClimatePartner; a leading organisation who works with businesses to create plan to reduce emissions.

Our report involved conducting research into the emissions that we create as a business, and then calculating our Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF)

TigerTMS created a total of 67.81 t CO2e in 2022*

By learning what our carbon emissions are, we have a starting point or benchmark to work from, to reduce our future footprint wherever possible. Read our Corporate Carbon Footprint Report.

1979. Tiger started life in the 1970’s in hardware development, designing and building line scanning equipment for Strowger switchboards and very quickly expanded into software development producing a sophisticated Cobol reporting package for use on mainframe computers.

1980. The Tiger 1000 Line Scanner and Status Cobol Software Package was widely used during the end of the 1970’s and early 1980’s in major companies such as Beechams, Citibank and Vauxhall Motors, and throughout the public sector in county councils, police forces and universities. A hotel product was developed and used by major hotel chains, including Trusthouse Forte, for guest billing. In addition Tiger operated a very successful bureau operation for customers without the resources or mainframe to run their own call logging systems.

1985. Telephone Management Systems (TMS) was founded and began developing call billing solutions for the hospitality industry.

1986. With the inception of electronic switches and the introduction of personal computers, Tiger developed the PC-based Tiger Traffic which was launched into the marketplace in 1986. The Tiger Traffic was an extremely successful DOS product for small single site switches through to large multi-site networks and was actively marketed until 1996.

1996. The Tiger 2000 call management product range was initially launched in 1996 and swiftly progressed to a full 32 bit product supporting the latest Windows platforms and including the fully integrated Tiger Hotel 2000, a unique proposition in the marketplace.

2009. Tiger Communications acquire 52% of TMS.

2010. Tiger Communications increases its holding in TMS to 97% and merges its Hospitality business into TMS. The merged Tiger and TMS are re-branded TigerTMS and are part of Group Tiger. TigerTMS re-brands its subsidiaries in Dubai and Germany to TigerTMS Dubai and TigerTMS Germany.

2012. TigerTMS acquires Innovation Technologies Worldwide Inc. The acquisition creates the world’s largest single supplier of communication and guest management systems to the hospitality industry serving over 15,000 properties including 9 of the 10 largest hotel chains.

2014. TigerTMS splits from Tiger Communications to focus on the hospitality sector.

2015. TigerTMS is acquired by Mitel Networks to form the basis for Mitel’s Hospitality Business Unit. Our time with Mitel gives us new opportunities to expand our portfolio. TigerTMS operate under the brand ‘Connected Guests’.

2020. TigerTMS becomes an independent company once again breaking away from Mitel Networks. The independent company is now focused on providing solutions across all platforms, allowing flexibility to deliver hospitality services according to the requirements of the hospitality industry.

2023. TigerTMS becomes part of the Valsoft family, following an acquisition by the Montreal based company. Aspire Software is the operating body under which TigerTMS continues to operate, delivering solutions that improve operational performance, increase productivity and enhance the guest experience.
